BSNL introduces new multilingual SMS service
New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI)Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today launched a new service to enable customers to send multilingual SMSs to all networks across the country.
The service called the Geneva Messaging Service gives the subscribers an opportunity to compose and send short messages in 11 Indian languages- Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telegu.
''The service developed by Geneva Software Technologies Ltd, Bangalore, is compatible with most of the mobile handsets available in the market'', the company statement said.
The multilingual SMS charges will be the same as the prevailing messaging charges.
