8 pkts detonators recovered, 2 lakh looted, one injured

Purulia, Feb 18 (UNI) A person sustained serious bullet injuries when three miscreants started firing indiscriminately after looting Rs 2,70,000 from a commercial centre here today.

The miscreants then fled towards the Jharkhand border.

The injured was rushed to a nearby hospital, police said.

Meanwhile Police today recovered eight packets of detonators and five packets of live wire, kept inside two cement sacks, from iniside a bus.

The driver of the bus, coming from Raniganj in Bardhaman district, informed the police about the sacks after no one claimed it.

Investigation was on to apprehend the criminals in both the cases, police said.
