30,000 new anganwari centres in J and K
Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to open 30,000 new anganwari centres in the state, Minister for Social Welfare Abdul Gani Vakil has said.
He said this would help tackle unemployment problem particularly among women.
Mr Vakil said 6500 anganwari workers would be posted within a month adding that 268 posts of supervisors were lying vacant in Social Welfare department.
He said that during last 3 years 40 new degree colleges were opened in the state and 8 new districts carved out which would go a long way towards speedy development and open new avenues of employment.
He said that during this period the Central government has provided funds liberally for consolidation of infrastructure.
Regarding the Kashmir issue, the Minister said India and Pakistan should sit together to solve this problem amicably.
He said the Congress party has always been advocating a solution of Kashmir issue through dialogues saying that violence is no way to solve any problem.
