UP DGP reviews security at Ravi Das temple ahead of CM visit
Varanasi, Feb 17 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Vikram Singh today visited Ravi Das temple situated in Seer Goverdhan area of the city and reviewed the security arrangements being made on the proposed visit of state Chief Minister Mayawati on February 21.
Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Malkiyat Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) S B Shiradkar, District Magistrate (DM) Veen and other senior officials were also present during his visit, sources said.
The DGP instructed for the deployment of adequate police force on the temple premises and asked police officials for giving information about the preparations. He also visited Ravi Das park near the temple.
Ms Mayawati will present the ''golden palki'' to Ravi Das temple on February 21 at a function being organised on the 631st birth anniversary of eminent Saint Ravi Das.
The palki has been manufactured with an estimated cost of over rs one crore with the assistance of the followers of the Saint living in Europe.
The arrival of large number of followers of Sanit Ravi Das has already started in Seer Goverdhan.
