Rains likely in coastal Tamil Nadu, northeast, Kerala

Pune, Feb 16 (UNI) Rain or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at few places in coastal Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marathwada, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, interior Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Severe cold wave conditions prevailed in east Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Orissa and Jharkhand and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh and west Madhya Pradesh.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab, north Gujarat, Chattisgarh and in remaining parts of Orissa, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. They were below normal in Bihar.

Night temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of coastal and north interior Karnataka and were above normal in Konkan, Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.
