President Pratibha Patil leaves for Delhi after two-day Bihar visit
Patna, Feb 16 (UNI) President Pratibha Debi Singh Patil left for New Delhi tonight, rounding off her two-day visit to Bihar.
She was seen off at the Patna airport by Governor R S Gavai, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Chief Secretary R J M Pillai and several senior civil and military officials.
The President was accompanied by her husband Debi Singh Shekhawat.
Ms Patil, who arrived in Gaya yesterday, visited Nalanda and Bodhgaya to see several historical monuments, including the ruins of 700-year -old Nalanda University and the famous Mahabodhi temple.
She also inaugurated the three-day inter-university cultural fest 'Tarang' at Bodhgaya.
In the evening she met Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi at their residence here.
Today, she went to Vaishali to visit several historical monuments there before inaugurating the 'Mukhamantri Kanya Vivaha Yojna' and an international conference on hyperthermia here.
Before returning to New Delhi, she also visited the famous Gurdwara Patna Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Govind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru.
