Panchayat VP accuses DMDMK founder for land grabbing

Kancheepuram, Feb 16: Devadur Village Panchayat Vice President Meena Jayaraman on Friday alleged that actor-politician and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam(DMDK) founder Vijaykant has occupied by force 38.62 acre land near Madurantagam in this district of Tamil Nadu.

Ms Jayaram, while handing over a memorandum addressed to the District Collector Santosh Raul, alleged that Mr Vijaykant had set up farms in 402.24 acres at Vilagam, Arungunam, Mullimurukancheri, whereas he was eligible for only 363.62 acre.

She alleged that Mr Vijaykant made a fencing to 26.52 acre 'poromboke land' in farms and 4.01 acre in a land belonged to Varadaraja Perumal temple here.

Mr Raul assured Ms Jayaram that action would be initiated, based on her complaint against Mr Vijaykant.
