Africa-CIS-India business meet on Feb 19-22
New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Enthused by the business generated in agri food last year, over 50 agri and seafood buyers from 12 African countries and 15 buyers from 5 CIS countries are headed for New Delhi and Mumbai for the 'Africa-CIS-India Agri and Sea Food Business Meet 2008'.
Organised by industry chamber FICCI and Department of Commerce, the buyer-seller meet is spread over four days from February 19-22.
It aims at bringing the suppliers and buyers of products and equipments in the related sectors at a common forum to explore mutually beneficial opportunities.
The meet will bring together private and public players from Africa, CIS and India on a common platform to explore synergistic strategic partnerships in joint ventures, co-production possibilities, boosting exports of products and services, exploring food&nutrition security, fostering institutional tie-ups, technology transfer and human resource development.
The African companies from Angola, Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Swaziland and Tanzania have confirmed their participation.
Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan are CIS countries expected at the meet.
The buyer-seller meeting at Mumbai will be held on February 19, followed by site visits to Indian factories and units the next day.
In New Delhi, the African and CIS countries' buyers will meet at a conference and buyer-seller meetings and field visits on February 21-22.
The business meeting with Africa last year on March 7-8 at New Delhi was attended by over 40 African delegates from 11 countries and generated leads worth over 150 million dollar, FICCI said today, adding a similar initiative gave a big boost to the industry in India and CIS to penetrate each others markets.
