Pondy has immense potential for French investments:Ambassador

Puducherry, Feb 15 (UNI) Ambassador of France in India, Jerome Bonnafonte today said there is immense potential for French investments in Puducherry.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the Union Territory is developing in IT and tourism sectors and south India, especially Puducherry with a number of higher educational institutions is poised to offer a number of human resource personnel.

The south Indian coast is a wonder, he said adding that Puducherry is a peaceful, well kept area and an architectural jewel.

Replying to a question, Mr Bonnafonte said several people are coming out of French institutions, including Lysce Francaise and going to France for job.

French people of Puducherry could be employed locally to serve as human resource base for upcoming industries here.

Asked about the cases of grabbing of lands, owned by the French nationals here, he said the French government is looking at it very carefully.

The French government is confident that the Indian government would take care of it in a proper manner, he added.
