CPM condemns hike in petrol, diesel prices
Mumbai, Feb 15 (UNI) The CPI(M)'s Mumbai committee has strongly condemned the Central Government's action of hiking petrol and diesel prices.
Mumbai unit secretary Mahendra Singh said in a statement here today that the UPA Government's action of hiking petrol and diesel prices has come at a time when the common man is already severely affected by high prices of essential commodities. The hike in the petrol and diesel prices by Rs two and Re one respectively is an act of adding fuel to it, he said.
The hike in the petroleum products is indicative of the anti-people policies pursued by the Government, he added.
The committee has decided to launch agitations independently and unitedly with other secular and left parties for the roll-back of the hike, he stated.
