CBI raids Kidney kingpin father-in-law's residence in Jammu
Jammu, Feb 15 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths today conducted a raid at the residence of Kidney kingpin Amit Kumar's father-in-law father-in-law's residence in city outskirts here today, official sources said.
A five-member team raided the premises of Sham Lal Saini's home in Digiana, some 8 kilometres from here.
''Mr Saini was questioned by the CBI team in connection with the Amit Kumar's visits to the city,'' sources told UNI.
Saini's daughter Poonam had joined Amit Kumar as a personal secretary at his clinic in 1992 and later married him in the year 1996.
''During preliminary investigation, Mr Saini disclosed that their family had no connections with his son-in-law Amit Kumar and daughter Poonam for the past four years and he never paid even a single visit to their residence since then,'' sources said.
Amit Kumar, who is alleged to be behind 600 illegal kidney transplants, was arrested last week from Nepal and is currently in CBI custody.
