Kochi, Feb 14 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee(KPCC) President Ramesh Chennithala today apprised UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi of the political situation in the state.
The state leaders also briefed her about the various campaigns undertaken by the Congress-led UDF against the ''anti-people policies'' of the LDF Government.
''It was a brief meeting. We will be having detailed discussions tomorrow in Thiruvananthapuram,'' Mr Chennithala told UNI.
Asked if there was any discussion on a possible reorganisation in the KPCC, following the return of veteran leader K Karunakaran to the party fold, Mr Chennithala replied in the negative.
Mrs Gandhi would be meeting Mr Karunakaran at Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow afternoon, he added.
Ernakulam District Congress Committee President V J Paulose handed over to Ms Gandhi, a memorandum submitted by families forcefully evicted from the Moolampally near here for the Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal highway project.
