Utt Goenkara demands MPT Chairman's recall
Panaji, Feb 13 ( UNI) Utt Goenkara has urged Union Minister for Shipping T R Baalu to immediately recall Goa's Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Chairman Praveen Agarwal to help and restore strained relation between the Port authorities and Institutions connected with the MPT including the people of Vasco at large.
Utt Goenkara spokesman Aires Rodrigues said the Minister has also informed that the incumbent MPT Chairman is involved in various malpractices and financial irregularities.
He added that the MPT needs a level headed officer who is able to take the launch owners into confidence, fishing community and the Vasco business community engaged in port acitivites, at large in all its expansion plans.
Commending the people of Vasco for having stood in solidarity, under the Mormugao Bachao Abhiyan in their struggle against the sinister expansion plans of the MPT, Mr Rodrigues said this should be an example for the rest of Goa to fight unitedly to save what now remains in Goa.
