Modi welcomes Israel company for Animal Husbandry project
Gandhinagar, Feb 13 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed Israel based Elbit Medical Imaging Ltd for investing 100 million dollars to set up a state of the art Dairy Farm equipped with modern feed and fodder techniques, animal husbandry and veterinary system in northern region of the state.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed today between Elbit Medical Imaging Ltd and Animal Husbandry Department of Gujarat Government for setting up an ultra modern dairy farm and a veterinary system in two phases.
In the first phase, the company has proposed to import 4000 cows and intends to establish an ultramodern dairy plant in an area of 43 hectares of land located at village Ambasan in Mehsana district for production of major and high quality of premium milk products.
In the second phase, the company will add another six thousand milch cows at village Mota-Jampura in Banaskantha district in an area of 150 hectares of land falling under animal husbandry.
Israeli cows, known in the world for their high yield, will benefit the farmers of the state by improved breed including frozen semen of the high yield variety bulls.
Cattle breeders of the state will be benefited from the techniques of modern cattle breeding and producing more milk and milk products at lower cost. Cattle breeders will be imparted extensive training in all matters related to cattle breeding by the company free of cost.
