Haryana for promoting tech education among women
Chandigarh, Feb 13 (UNI) Haryana Industrial Training and Vocational Education Department has given utmost priority to the training of women for self employment and placement in industries as out of a total of 80 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), 31 are being run exclusively for the women.
While stating this here today, a spokesperson of the Department said that 25 per cent of the seats had been reserved for women candidates in all ITIs in the state and no tuition fee was being charged from the women trainees.
He said an outlay of Rs 123.22 crore had been fixed for the current financial year to promote industrial training and vocational education in the state.
The spokesperson said while five ITIs of Sirsa, Hisar, Narwana, Rohtak and Rewari had already been upgraded as Centres of Excellence during last financial year, six more ITIs at Gohana, Panipat, Jind, Palwal, Ambala City and Sonipat had been upgraded during the current financial year.
He said eight vocational education institutes at Ambala City, Hisar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Karnal, Deroli Ahir, Purkhas and Yamuna Nagar had been converted into ITIs for better utilisation of infrastructure and employment generation.
