BEL sets a target of Rs.2001 crore business in 2010

Bhubaneswar,Feb 13 (UNI) Bajaj Electricals Limited(BEL) has set a target of Rs 2001 crore business by 2010, according to its Executive Director R Ramakrishnan.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Ramakrishnan said last year BEL's turnover was Rs 1111 crore while during the current fiscal it would touch Rs 1401 crore.

With new products like gas stoves, home UPS and food processor hitting the market soon, the company, the Executive Director said is all set to cross the Rs 2000 crore turnover by 2010.

He claimed that the BEL has emerged as number one in the country in Mixer Grinder and Iron by producing 400,000 and 1.1 million per annum respectively.

Mr Ramakrishnan said the company had tied up with Italy based NARDI to produce Gas stoves and Chimneys which would hit the indian market soon.

To a question he said nearly ten per cent of the sales attributed from the new range of products while another ten per cent from the new distribution network.

For the first time the BEL, Mr Ramakrishnan said, had taken up the task of implementing the Rajiv Gandhi Viduyt Karan Yojana in 900 villages in Chhatishgarh to provide power to 50,000 families.

He claimed that it was heartening that the company has grown up by 31 per cent in the first half of the current fiscal and doubled the net profit. In the coming years the growth would further jump to nearly 40 per cent, Mr Ramakrishnan said.
