Rose sales witness a boom ahead of Valentine's Day

Tamil Nadu, Feb 12, 2008 : The business of rose blooms is witnessing a mega boom ahead of Valentine's Day celebrations in Tamil Nadu.

Pushpanchali Rose Garden, the largest rose production centre in Krishnagiri, about 250 km away from Chennai is growing lakhs of roses. A one-hectare farm can grow as many as 70,000 rose plants with each plant producing at least 20 to 22 flowers each year in ideal "glass house" conditions.
