15 seriously injured in bus-container lorry collision

Kancheepuram, Feb 12: Fifteen people, including ten women, were seriously injured when a State Transport Corporation bus collided with a container lorry at Vengudi in this district, today.

Police said the mishap occurred when the bus was proceeding to Nerkundram from Kancheepuram and the container lorry was on its way to Kancheepuram from Wallajabad.

The injured -- the bus driver, conductor, 12 passengers and the container lorry driver -- were admitted to the Kancheepuram Government Hospital. Later, four of them were rushed to a Government Hospital in Chennai for further treatment.
