Defence Minister to visit DRDO establishments in the city tomorrow

Bangalore, Feb 11 (UNI) Defence Minister A K Antony who is paying a day's visit to the city, would go around DRDO laboratories here tomorrow.

He would be taken to Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) and Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), a DRDO release said here today.

This will be Mr Antony's first visit to the DRDO facilities in the city after he took over as the Defence Minister.

At ADA, he would hold discussions with senior officials and was expected to take a look at the System Design and Evaluation Facility, Weapons Rig and an exhibition on the indigenous LRUs. At Aircraft Research and Development Centre, the minister would be taken to the 'Iron Bird' and hanger of the Light Combat Aircraft - 'Tejas'.

This would be followed by his witnessing a flight demonstration of Tejas at National Flight Test Centre.

AT ADE, scientists would brief the minister on the products and exhibits on display there, as well as simulation activities at the centre.

A visit to the Kaveri Engine Assembly Bay and Test House at GTRE and display of radars at LRDE as well as an exhibition on activities of CABS, MTRDC, DARE and CAIR had also been lined up, the release added.
