1 drowned, 1 missing at Band Stand beach, 4 rescued

Mumbai, Feb 10 (UNI) A girl was drowned and a boy went missing, when they were washed away in the high tide in the sea, near Bandra Band Stand here today.

The youngsters were part of a group of six, who had come to Band Stand for a picnic.

The other four youngsters were saved by locals and fire brigade officials.

According to fire brigade officials, three boys and three girls were enjoying themselves in the sea water, when suddenly the waves turned violent and before these youngsters knew what was happening they were swept away.

''We have rescued four people. One girl's dead body has been removed and we are on the look out for the sixth boy. None of them have been identified yet,'' an official said.

The rescued persons were taken to Bhabha hospital, the officials added.
