Spurious oil worth Rs 1 crore seized

Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 9 (UNI) Huge quantity of spurious oil, including toxic argemonia oil, valued at about Rs one crore, were seized during raid at the premises of eight oil traders here, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Hemkrishna Yadav said that on a tip-off about trading of spurious oil, joint team of police and administration raided godowns of eight oil traders in the last two days. Besides spurious oil, machines for printing wrappers of branded oil and other instruments were seized.

Argemonia oil, which is used for adulterating palm oil and soyabean oil, was also seized.
