Rs 30,000 health insurance for Rs 6 monthly premium

Ranchi, Feb 9 (UNI) The Jharkhand government will enable labourers to avail of Rs 30,000 as health insurance just at the cost of Rs six monthly premium.

Announcing this at a news confenrece here, Health Minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi said with this any labourer could get treated to the tune of Rs 30,000 either at Rajendra Institute of Medical Science here or All India Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi.

He said the old age pension has been raised to Rs 400 per month and physically challenged people would also be included in the scheme.

He said labourers working at the iron industries were not covered under the Labour Act and effort was on to bring them within its purview.
