Govt plans to enhance mess charges for social welfare hostels
Eluru, Feb 9 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to enhance the mess charges for the Social Welfare hostels in the state up to 30 to 40 per cent in the next budget to provide nutritional food to students.
Inaugurating the Welfare Sports Festival at ASR Stadium here today, Social Welfare Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said the present Congress Government had enhanced the mess charges by 25 per cent as compared to the previous TDP Government.
The government was keenly considering to enhance the charges during the next financial year for all the students of the SC, ST, BC Welfare hostels.
He said that for the students up to seventh standard, the raise would be 40 per cent and from eighth standard it would be 30 per cent. The government was providing corporate level facilities at all the welfare hostels in the state, he added.
