UDF seeks resignation of Industries, Revenue Ministers
Kottayam, Feb 8 (UNI) United Democratic Front Convener P P Thankachan today demanded the resignation of Kerala Industries and Revenue Ministers in the wake of the submission of a report by a Committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, in the HMT land deal case.
At a news conference here, he demanded that the Ministers should resign or the Chief Minister should sack them.
Stating that the Committee had endorsed the Law Secretary's earlier report that the HMT deal was illegal, he claimed that the Committee had termed the deal illegal and said it should be cancelled. Both the Ministers had helped to legalise the ''illegal'' deal, he charged.
Mr Thankachan appealed to the Government to publish the report.
The UDF leader emphasised the need for framing a common policy for the sale of land held by the public sector institutions.
Referring to KER reforms, he urged the Government to hold detailed discussions in the Assembly and outside before implementing it.
