Speeding truck kills Delhi Police constable, injures another
New Delhi, Feb 8 (UNI) A constable of the Delhi Police died and another injured after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle in Gokulpuri area of north-east Delhi today.
While constable Dhirendra Vats (39) died on the spot when the truck carrying logs hit the motorcycle from behind, constable Jaiveer (38) received serious injuries, police said.
The accident took place near Bhajanpura filling station at about 0040 hrs when both were on patrolling duty.
The motorcycle dragged for some distance after it came under the truck.
The driver was absconding, the police added.
Recruited in 1988, Dhirendra is survived by his wife and three children.
