Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff calls on Western Naval Command chief

Mumbai, Feb 8 (UNI) General O A Azazi, Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) of Nigerian Armed Forces, today called on Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Vice Admiral J S Bedi at the Headquarters of Western Naval Command (WNC) and held discussions with him on mutual co-operation.

The top Nigerian defence official has been on a three-day visit to the city, which commenced from yesterday, a Defence Ministry release said here today.

General Azazi and Vice Admiral Bedi held parleys on mutual co-operation and friendship of the two navies and increased co-operation in the field of training of officers and men.

The visiting General was accorded a warm welcome and given a presentation at Western Naval Command. He later visited Naval Dockyard in the city and Indian Navy's frontline warship 'INS Mysore' and Mazagaon Dockyard Limited, the release said.

Mrs Alero Azazi, wife of General Azazi who also accompanied the General, was given an overview of the activities conducted by NWWA (Western Region) in and around Mumbai by Mrs Kanwal bedi, president, Nawal Wives welfare Association, (Western Region) it added.
