Mumbai Division of CR hikes fee for lifting accident victims

Mumbai, Feb 8 (UNI) Mumbai Division of Central Railway (CR) today announced an enhancement of fee for dealing with the accident victims in railway premises, from Rs 500 to Rs 700.

According to a CR release here today, the cases where some ambulance or transport vehicle is utilised for carrying the accident victim, the railway would take Rs 450 instead of the earlier Rs 250 as the ambulance/vehicle charges.

At the same time, the amount that is paid to the railways porter for lifting a victim to the vehicle has also been raised to Rs 160 from the existing Rs 60.

In addition, in case a porter carries the accident victim to the hospital, he would be entitled to a fee of Rs 200, the release said.

The Railway authorities also announced that expenditure up to maximum of Rs 90 would be allowed for purchase of one shroud.
