Haryana announces Rs 1 lakh award for panchayats
Chandigarh, Feb 8 (UNI) The Haryana government has announced an award of Rs one lakh for the panchayats in the state which would achieve 100 per cent enrolment and retention of six to 14 years old girls in the school.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Prathmik Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad said that Village Education Committees had been reconstituted with Sarpanch as Chairman and training programme for the members of such committees had already been organised at the level of each block.
"Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan the government is providing aids and appliances to the disabled children and Rs 1200 per child are available under this component so as to facilitate them," he said adding that while maintenance and repair grant of Rs 5,000 was admissible for each primary, middle, high and senior secondary school under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rs 1,400 per school were being provided for research and evaluation.
"While 800 early childhood care and education centres, known as Bachpanshalas have been opened in the state, process has been initiated to open five more Bachpanshalas per district," he said.
