Cong releases election manifesto in Meghalaya
Shillong, Feb 8: Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today released the Congress manifesto at a function at the local Congress Bhawan here for the March 3 Assembly polls in Meghalaya.
The manifesto highlights some of the programme and schemes which the Congress seeks to implement if voted back to power.
According to Union Tribal Affairs Minister and local MP P R Kyndiah, the party was poised to form the next government on its own in the 60-member House.
Some of the schemes and projects highlighted for implementation, if the Congress returned to power, include creation of more jobs for employment, giving top priority to agriculture and irrigation and financial assistance to small farmers.
In the power sector, the Congress also seeks to harness potential of the state by taking up hydel and thermal power projects.
