New MD for State Bank of Indore

Indore, Feb 5: With the important task of merger with State Bank of India in near future, State Bank of Indore's new Managing Director Pradeep Shankar took charge last evening here at the Headquarters.

He took charge from Mr C Narsimhan, who had been transferred just few days after the all India strike opposing merger. Mr Shankar may be the last MD of State Bank of Indore, if the proposal of its merger goes ahead.

All India Bank Officers Association President Alok Khare, however, described the transfer as routine one as Mr Narsimhan had completed nearly three years term.

It was alleged that the opposition against the merger by the Indore bank's officers and employees was getting support from top level and some officers at the top were also against the merger.
