Farmers stage dharna infront of Collectorate

Nizamabad, Feb 5 (UNI) The turmeric growing farmers along with leaders of CPI, CPI(M), BJP and TRS staged a dharna infront the Collectorate here today, demanding minimum support price for turmeric.

Police said the agitating farmers also damaged flower pots in the Collectorate premises.

Though the District Collector assured them to do the needful, the farmers did not heed to his request and continued their dharna till evening.

A large number of police personnel was posted to prevent any untoward incident.
