Bachchan family not celebrating Abhishek's birthday
Jaipur, Feb 5 (UNI) Bollywood mega, Superstar Amitabh Bachchan's family, which is camping here since yesterday, has decided not to celebrate Abhishek Bachchan's birthday this year in view of his grandmother Teji Bachchan's death.
Talking to reporters here today Bachchans' family friend and Samajwadi Pary leader Amar Singh said the family had gathered in the Pink city not to celebrate Abhishek's birthday but just to be with him on the occasion.
Mr Singh said that it was not appropriate even to celebrate in view of Teji Bachchan's demise recently.
However, despite the family's decision not to have any celebrations, a strong crowd of Bachchans' friends and fans gathered outside the Rambagh Palace Hotel here to greet Abhishek on his birthday.
The hotel authorities had to make extra security arrangements out side the hotel to keep the crowd away from the hotel where the family is camping since yesterday.
Amitabh's family came here yesterday amid reports of violence against North Indians and attack at the mega star's house in Mumbai.
Junior Bachchans Abhishek and Aishwarya were frequently visiting Rajasthan these days for shooting of their respective films, Amitabh, his wife Jaya and family friend Mr Amar Singh had also reached Jaipur yesterday.
Amitabh was flown to Jaipur from Shimla leaving his shooting there unfinished.
He was received at the Sanganer Airport here by Jaya and Abhishek and Aishwarya.
Mr Singh clarified that the family had not come here due to security reasons in the wake of violent incidents in Mumbai.
He said it was not the Bachchan family which might be the possible target of Raj Thackeray supporters but those elements were targetting North Indians, people of Uttar Pradesh who included actor Manoj Tiwari.
He alleged that Maharasthra Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh had not taken the incidents seriously otherwise the situation could have been prevented from taking an ugly turn.
Mr Singh said that it was unfortunate that the Raj Thackeray supporters were an raising an objection even on the opening of a school in Aishwarya's Rai's name in Uttar Pradesh.
