AFWWA chief interacts with wives of air warriors

Chandigarh, Feb 5 (UNI) On a four-day visit to 3 BRD Air Force, Mrs Rachita Nayyar, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA), Maintenance Command interacted with the wives of air warriors here today and encouraged them to lead a self sufficient, self confident and a stress free life.

Mrs Renu Luthra, President local AFWWA apprised her of the various developmental activities being carried out at the station for the welfare of the families of the air warriors and sought her guidance in further promoting these activities at the station. Mrs Nayyar complimented the members of AFWWA for the commendable job they were doing.

The ladies of the station organised a gala cultural programme to honour Mrs Nayyar. The various activities staged included a candle dance sequence with Gayatri Mantar, followed by a performance of Tagore's dance sequence by the AFWWA-run dance school. Hilarious skits were presented by AFWWA members who held the audience in raptures.

Later, Mrs Nayyar visited 'Prerna', the school for underprivileged children being run by 3 BRD AFWWA. She emphasised the need of giving these children proper all-round education in order to amalgamate them into the mainstream.
