Thackrey's remarks incite violence in Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 4, 2008 : Violence rocked India's western Mumbai on Sunday, February 3rd as Uttar Pradesh based Samajwadi Party took out a rally in the financial capital Mumbai against the derogatory remark made by Raj Thakrey on a traditional festival, which is quite popular in Uttar Pradesh's eastern parts and eastern Bihar state.

India's Railway Minister Lalu Prasad also came down heavily on Thackeray, saying he would have to bear the consequence of hurting religious sentiments.
