Second block of Infosys at IT park coming up
Chandigarh, Feb 4: The second software development block of IT major, Infosys Technologies Ltd will be ready within three months at the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Part (RGCTP).
The company is investing Rs 200 crore in the new block, which will be able to accommodate 2,000 IT professional. Infosys, which is the anchor company of the IT Park, has 30 acres of land at its disposal and its other state-of-the-art software development block is already operational. The company has already spent Rs 500 crore on building the campus and adding various facilities to it.
Mr Sameer Goel, Infosys head, Delivery, Middle East and Afirca Development Centre, said, ''We will keep adding the facilities grdually at the IT Park according to the need".
The new software development block would double the number of employees. At present, 2,000 IT professional are working with the company here.
Refering to the business growth registered by the company, Mr Goel said that Infosys had recorded exports worth Rs 100 crore in year 2007-08 from its Chandigarh facility alone.
The company has also constructed a state-of-the-art food court where 1,500 people can eat at one time, besides a gymnasium and guest house for the employees.
