SC issues notices to DDA, DP, MCD and NDMC
New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notices to the DDA, Delhi Police, MCD and NDMC, to explain how the sealing of the premises which were not protected under the Master Plan Delhi(MPD)2021 could be stopped.
A bench, headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat, issued notices on the basis of the report of Supreme Court appointed Monitoring Committee.
The committee brought to the notice of the court that government agencies had virtually stopped sealing in view of the fresh notification issued by the Central Government, giving blanket protection to all commercial premises operating from residential areas illegally, unauthorised constructions in the city, as well as encroachments on public land for one year.
The Central Government has also told the civic agencies to deseal all premises which were operating prior to December 31, 2006.
The Supreme Court will hear the case on February 13.
