Rupee opens modestly high at 39.32/33 against USD

Mumbai, Feb 4: The spot rupee opened marginally firm by two paise at 39.32/33 against US Dollar todayfrom its previous close of 39.34/36 on scattered demand from local bankers along with the firm move in the Indian equity market in the early trade.

Dealers said ''Rupee treaded water on Monday, caught between overseas investment flows after sentiment was boosted by buoyant Asian equity markets and the prospect of RBI intervention against the local unit.

Later, it touched between at 39.32 and 39.38 per dollar with a narrow movement during the mid session.
