Bhopal, Feb 4 (UNI) Samples of imported red wheat collected from 13 districts in Madhya Pardesh have been found sub-standard.

In a statement issued here yesterday, state Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said 22 samples of red wheat had been collected from 14 districts in December. Samples from 13 districts barring Chhindwara had been found to be sub-standard.

He said 81 samples of red wheat had been collected from 26 districts in January. These samples were being analysed at present.

Mr Vishnoi said analysis of red wheat samples had proved that the quality of red wheat imported by the Centre was not satisfactory.

The Centre must take immediate decision in this regard.

Recently, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had carried out sudden inspection at a godown of the Food Corporation of India and expressed displeasure over the quality of red wheat. Later, he wrote a letter to the Centre in this regard.
