Ramji Tiwari conferred Harvansrai Bachchan award

Thane, Feb 4: The highest award in Literature instituted in memory of the great poet Late Harvansrai Bacchan by the Hindi Bashi Prachar Sabha and the Rajastani Seva Samiti, was last night conferred on Dr. Ramji Tiwari of the Mumbai University for his contribution towards the spread of literature.

The award has been instituted for the first time this year by the Samiti in memory of the Late poet and would be given to those exeeling in Literature and art. The award was given by Mr. Justice Satyaranjan Dharmadhikari of Bombay High court to Dr. Tiwari The award carries a citation, shawl, srifal besides Rs. 11,000 in cash.

Rich tributes were paid in memory of Late Bacchan on this occasion and also remembered was the police officer Adhav. Also given were the Maharan Shourya Puraskar, to Bababsaheb Adhav, the police officer from Navi Mumbai who gave his life fighting the dacoits in the bank robbery.

The third award in memory of Chatrapari Shivaji Maharaj was given to Padmashri Dr. Tatyasaheb Lahane, who had performed more than a lakh operations.
