Mumbai Congress chief demands police action against Raj
Mumbai, Feb 4 (UNI) Mumbai Region Congress Committee (MRCC) chief Gurudas Kamat has requested Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to take action against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for his ''provocative'' speeches against the North Indian community.
Mr Kamat has written a letter to the Chief Minister and Mumbai Police Commissioner D N Jadhav, a copy of which was released to the media.
In the letter, Mr Kamat has asked them to take action against the MNS chief and his activists for disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the city.
He has also alleged that the police were mere spectators when the MNS activists created a law and order situation in the city.
