Governor summons AP houses to meet on Feb 11

Hyderabad, Feb 4 (UNI) The budget session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature will begin on February 11, with Governor N D Tiwari addressing a joint meeting of both the Houses.

The Governor issued notifications today, summoning both the Houses to meet for its 13th session from next Monday.

The session was likely to be stormy with 16 MLAs and three MLCs of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti all set to press for their resignation to mount pressure on the ruling Congress to concede Statehood to Telangana.

Finance Minister K Rosaiah would present the budget for the next fiscal on February 16 and the long session was likely to conclude on March 27.

During the session, six members of the Rajya Sabha would be elected to fill the vacancies caused by the retirement of Congress members T Subbirami Reddy and Nandi Yellaiah and TDP members R Chandrasekhar Reddy, Lal Jan Basha, A Sudarshan and N P Durga.
