Fuel hike prices to be decided by Cabinet on Feb 7

New Delhi, Feb 4: The decision to hike fuel prices mainly petrol and diesel by Rs 2 and Re 1 a litre respectively by the Cabinet is expected to be taken up on Feb 7. No such meeting of the Cabinet took place in the course of the day today to take the final call on a possible hike in fuel prices in the wake of rise in global crude oil prices, sources told UNI.

No Cabinet meeting has been held in the course of the day and denied reports of any decision on hike in fuel prices, sources added. News reports earlier said that the Cabinet would meet to take a decision on hike in fuel prices which had been put off by the Group of Ministers (GoM) headed by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in its meeting.
