Virk seeks permission to operate bank accounts

Rupnagar, Feb 2 (UNI) Former Punjab DGP S S Virk, an accused in a case of amassing disproportionate assets and keeping 'Cats' registered by Vigilance Bureau, today moved an application in the local court seeking permission to operate his bank accounts.

Virk moved the application in the court of Rupnagar Sessions Judge Rekha Mittal through his counsel, in which he had stated that he required money for his treatment and other day-to-day expenses.

Therefore, he should be allowed to operate his bank account jointly held with his wife and daughter at HDFC bank, Chandigarh and his salary account in SBI sector-7 branch Chandigarh, he pleaded.

The court has issued notice to state for February 25 on the application for its reply.
