Three-day Flute Festival to honour renowned musician Doreswamy

Bangalore, Feb 02(UNI) A Three-day flute festival has been organised to honour renowned flute exponent M R Doreswamy from February 8 in the city.

Speaking at a press conference, Vidwan M S Srinivasmurthy, President Flute Vidwan Sri M R Doreswamy Music Acadamy, here today, he said that over 60 renowned musicians would participate in the three-day musical extravaganza.

Mr Srinivasmurthy said that there were hundreds and thousands of flute exponents trained under the great musician M R Doreswamy had spread across many states. "Holding of the three-day event would be an attempt to bring them all together and it will be an annual affair" he said.

Mr Srinivasamurthy said that to carry forward the contributions made by Flute Exponent M R Doreswamy for the benefit of next generation, the disciples of Doreswamy have formed an Acadamy.

Holding music festivals, seminars and providing a platform to senior musicians were among the many objectives of the academy, he said.

On the occasion of Flute festival renowned personalities who have contributed their might for the world of Music, would be felicitated. They include B Sharnar Ral, Dr N Ramani, A Rajamma Keshavamurthy, A V Prakash, H V Krishnamurthy, P Sundareshan, M Vasudevarao, A Rajachar, he said.
