Heath Ledger's prankster traced to Scarborough, UK
London, Feb 2 : The sick prankster who has been pretending to be Heath Ledger's grieving dad has been traced to Scarborough, UK.
Friends of the dead star were horrified when a man claiming to be his dad Kim Ledger started calling Hollywood A-listers, including one-on-one chats with superstars like Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
The hoaxer talked to the Mission Impossible star, just hours after 28-year-old Heath's death was announced.
He then asked Travolta to buy him a plane ticket to New York from Australia. However, the Pulp Fiction star sensed that something is wrong and immediately called in detectives.
According to US police sources, two numbers, a landline and mobile, had been tracked down to a dull block of bedsit flats in the Yorkshire seaside resort.
The mobile was said to be registered to a 35-year-old local man.
"How would a nobody in that flat have the numbers of two of the world's biggest film stars?" The Sun quoted a police source, as saying.
"Investigators are also asking what was his motive. It's bizarre. All roads currently lead to this man. And he may soon get a knock at his door," the source added.
The source revealed that though New York cops are leading the inquiry, North Yorkshire detectives may also be called in.
