Gang of highway robbers bust

Kapurthala, Feb 2 (UNI) Kapurthala police busted a gang of highway robbers and arrested its six members after the recovery of two country made pistols, two swords, some cash and a car from their possession.

SSP Rakesh Aggarwal, addressing a press conference here today said robbers, who are drug addicts, had looted two petrol pumps in the area and created a panic by fleecing money from people.

Two of the accused, Sandeep Bhola and Jagtar Singh, had returned from Dubai and were indulging in the looting incidents to meet the demands of drugs.

Police has identiiefied the accused as Jagtar Singh, Gurpeeet Singh, Swaranjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Sandeep Bhola.
