Rupee opens marginally firm at 39.36/37 against USD

Mumbai, Feb 1: The Rupee today opened marginally firm at 39.36/37 against US Dollar from its previous close of 39.37/38 per Dollar on the firm move in the Indian equity market in the early trade.

After making a firm start in the early morning, the local unit was trading with a marginal difference of 3 to 4 paise against the greenback, which is supposed to be under pressure on the concern of possible US recession. However, supected intervention by the Reserve Bank of India would cap the rupee's appreciation and it is being expected to end near the same level, dealers said.
