Kochi, Feb 1 (UNI) The State government will take any decision on the controversial HMT land deal only after receiving the report of an inquiry committee probing the issue, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said today.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, Mr Achuthanandan said the Chief Secretary had been asked to look into the sale of 70 acre of government-allotted land by the HMT to the Mumbai-based real estate developer Blue Star Realtors Pvt Ltd.

Asked about the demand made by the LDF partner's CPI yesterday that the government cancel the resale deed and reclaim the land, Mr Achuthanandan said all political parties had the freedom to air their views.

Any difference of opinion among the LDF partners would be resolved through discussions, he said.

The matter should be examined from all aspects and comments made only after knowing the real facts, he added.

Public sector HMT had sold 70 acre of land, allotted to it by the Kerala Government, to Blue Star Realtors at Kalmaserry here to set up a 'cyber city.' However, a PIL has been filed in the Kerala High Court, challenging HMT's action on the ground that it had no power to resell the land allotted to it for industrial purpose.

The Opposition UDF has demanded a judicial probe into the deal.

The foundation stone for the 'cyber city' was laid last month.

The Chief Minister, who was to attend the function, stayed away from it following the controversy.
