Youth commits suicide in Shimla

Shimla, Jan 31: A 32-year old youth committed suicide in his house in Jhakhri in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh today, police said.

Rattan Dass, 32, committed suicide by hanging from the roof of his house late this afternoon following a disease he believed was not curable.

The police said a diary recovered from his house read that he was committing suicide after failing to get cured from the ''incurable disease''.

His neighbour found his body hanging from the roof after they broke open the door when they failed to get any response from him despited repeated attempts.

The police said he was seen roaming in the town in the noon and must have committed suicide late after that.

A case had been registered under Section 174 of the CrPC and investigations were on, the police added.
