Unknown disease hits domestic animals

A
large
number
of
domestic
animals
have
reportedly
died
of
an
unknown
disease
that
broke
out
in
Rusoma
village,
about
25
kms
from
Kohima,
since
the
past
few
days.
Official sources said here today that the villagers had sent an SOS to the Nagaland Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department and some doctors had visited the village and examined the diseased domestic animals, including dogs and pigs.
About 40 dogs and pigs had died in the village during the past few days.
Meanwhile, the department had taken up the matter seriously and started laboratory tests, the sources added.
